Total and complete scam!!!

I didn't realize it at first, but Local Lighthouse has been lying right from the first phone call! Many of the lies are already documented on this site by other people. The biggest one to me was they promised after 3 months, if my site was not ranking in google I don't have to pay the $99 that month. It's 5 months now and they continually lie about refunding my money, even giving me phony receipts for the refund they promised! Last month they even lied saying that I was ranking now and sent me a bogus report - none of it was true...I was not showing up in google at all (I gave up looking after 15 pages). DON'T GET INVOLVED WITH THIS SCAM - STAY AWAY!!!

Lighthouse Faking themselves as Google

This company is fraudently using Googles name and uses a pitch to sound like they are calling from Google and have an answer prepared when you ask them if they directly work for Google which is "Google is to big of a company to call people so we call for them - are you the owner of the business etc." I have learned that when a call is aggressive about obtaining information before giving any of their own, they are usually up to no good because if they obtained my cell phone number - they should already know me.

Arrogant SOBs need to obey the law and respect customers

I get an automated call every month from them and usually hang up....I'm on the National Do Not Call Registry, but they call anyway. Today I get a call and decide to get more information. The phone number says Florida, the man on the line said Orange County. When I found their website and determined the company at least exists, I responded that I would report them to the Do Not Call registry. The man became instantly rude, and laughed at me and said in a childish voice, "Oh no. You're not going to report us are you? (laughter heard)" At that point I am confident in writing this review. They are scam artists that simply get people on the hook with an automated calling system that flagrantly disobeys the law because they feel they are above it. Any company like that does not deserve anyone's business ever!!!!

They robo-called me 9 times even after I told them not to call again. I am meeting them in court tomorrow.

The owner offered a settlement but since I have them cold I won't settle. You will be glad to hear that Google sued them for misrepresenting themselves.

The owner claims to have laid off 3/4 of his staff. They are in a downward spiral.

FALSE PROMISES, LYING & FABRICATING

We were promised the world, and got NOTHING from what was promised. They lied about everything from the first phone call. Not even exaggerating, just straight up LIES. Took our money for false services rendered, and provided nothing they said they would. They told us they work directly for Google, and have the power to get administrator privileges to change certain things online, which would properly reflect our business. From the very first phone call, they did NOTHING they said they would, literally!! They told us they did not have authorization to do a certain thing, and it was impossible, and then we did it in about 5 minutes on our own. They lied and made us sign a contract under false pretenses, and refuse to give our money back.

Local Lighthouse false representations

Received 2-3 calls a day (sometimes even at night) from different numbers. Each person said they could get our business on the front page of Google. When I explained we were not interested, some even got downright rude; none of them would take "no" for an answer. Each time, I would ask to speak to someone who could take our name off the calling list and each time the so-called Google representative would hang up. Yesterday (7/16/15) I got a call right back from another number and when I didn't answer, my husband got a similar call on his cell phone. Then I would get another call or two later the same day. The only way to stop the harassment was to change our number.

These people spam me with autobot phone calls all day saying they are google plus specialists and want to speak with the business owner. They make false claims to people about SEO rankings on Google in an attempt to get you to pay them thousands of dollars under subscription content. This is one of the most fraudulent businesses going on right now and these people should literally be considered as prime candidates for jail or prison. THEY DO NOT RESPECT REQUESTS FOR PUT ME ON YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST AND TAKE ME OFF YOUR LIST. Jail time for these people?

First and foremost let me explain their sales people (mine was Brain) will say anything to get you to sign up. After you sign up they will not let you out of the agreement unless you pay a termination fee. I spent countless hours on the phone with them week after week, Lies after Lies. Their only Job is to make it so you can't cancel. I am 3 months into this and today I offered to pay them in advance for the rest of my contract and all I wanted was a cancelation number and they wouldn't do it. The reason I believe they will not do this is because after my contract expires they will do everything possible to continue to bill me. Let me explain how this works. Local Lighthouse told me they where a Google Partner and could get me on the first page of Google, Bing and Yahoo within 90days. My rep. Brian said it would actually take a month. He told me a could check the status through localparc.com He told me his company believed so strong in what they were doing they had an actually agreement that stated they would get me on page one. In the agreement I was asked to pick 3 key phrases when someone types into a search engine (Google) my company would appear. I called my rep Brain back with questions and asked him if the user would have to type in the town or the county into the search engine. EX. Tree Services in Orange Town. Brian told me that was a crazy question, No one would every type in the town or county after the key word. This is a huge lie and the most important thing. ALL THE REPORTS THAT ARE GENERATED ARE BASED ON YOUR KEY WORDS AND IN WHATEVER TOWN and STATE YOU ARE ADVERTISING. To me this isn't SEO its creating a really long domain name that very few people will find. In comparison if you own a Pizza Shop and live in Medford the end user will have to type in Pizza Shop in Medford NJ to find this site verses typing in Pizza Shop. In this comparison key words pizza shop may have 100,000 searches were Pizza Shop in Medford NJ may have less then 100. That's what Local light house is doing. It took Local light house about a month to get localparc.com up and running for my account as soon as I saw that my 3 keywords were followed by the words (in, my city and state I contacted Local Light House, again they lied and said in my town, NJ was used so from their location in CA they would have to type in ex. Pizza Shops in Medford, NJ to see where my company rated. Then latter when I called them back they said " in the town and state is part of the keywords. I have asked every time to speak with my rep Brain and have been declined and forced to deal with other reps. I was very polite with them today and the rep I spoke to told me the sales department has misrepresented the company. Then I was transferred to the cancelation company(4th transfer of the day) The manager who I spoke to said I was under contract and there was nothing she could do. I very polite told her that as a business owner if my sales staff lies to get a sale and I find out they are fired and I make it right with my customer that is how respectable businesses operate. The second you lie to your customer about being a Google Partner and make false promises then when customers find out you are lying and try to cancel you use a contract to make it so they can't leave you should find another job. My contact number is 609.321.0714 and my email is Danielc1548@gmail.com. My name is Daniel. I will be contacting lawyers and if others have had similar experiences I will talk to my attorneys about a class action suit. In my eyes what they are doing is wrong and someone needs to do something about this. When you tell someone you are Google or a Google Partner and are not you are creating Fraud. In addition I will be contacting Google and Google Legal Department. If anyone else is doing anything or filing anything please let me know as I would like to be involved. Thanks, Daniel

Like the other, I was contacted about my business and lied to

The guy said it was a 100% guarantee that my biz listing would be on the front page of Google under all 10 keywords for $99 per month. Better deal than eGumball but still the same scam. Not interested. NO ONE can speak for Google. Just a sham like the others. Once I told him that I was not interested he became very rude and then hung up on me. The funny part is this....I don't even have a business. This business cannot speak for Google...only Google can speak for themselves and they do not call any customers or business.

Make Sure To Read The Terms and Conditions

Actually there isn't really any Terms and Conditions on the contract they send you...nor does anyone or anything prompt you to read the extensive list of Terms on their website (www.locallighthouse.com/terms) prior to signing. I made the mistake of not doing my due diligence of reading the Terms and Conditions prior to signing and am still kicking myself for trusting their sales agent, Stephanie Allen. Long story short; Don't make the same mistake I did. What you get with Local Lighthouse is an unprofessional business dedicated to giving you horrible customer service and representation of your business with a website that you pray DOES NOT end up on the front page of Google. Terminating the contract is another nightmare in itself, due to section 13 of the Terms and Conditions; which states that termination will result in a $450 termination fee...even if you are trying to cancel within the first 3 weeks like I did. So after I finally read ALL of the Terms and Conditions...which is a real piece of work...basically stripping you of all rights, giving Local Lighthouse full authority to rape you and your business. I did find a loophole in the language. For those of you who are in the same boat as I am: Sections 2 and 3 clearly state that you are able to cancel work in writing within 15 days of the billing date or "Agreement Anniversary". Note that these two sections will be your defense against Section 13, which seeks to hold you hostage by saying that the "USER may terminate their signed agreement at any time with a one-time termination fee of $450 or by paying the monthly fees for the remainder of their agreement's term (whichever is less)." Now, since the Agreement you signed simply says "6 months at the rate of $99/month", one could argue that it is stating that by signing, you are agreeing to a set price of $99, paid on a month to month basis. Also since the "agreement's term" could be understood as a one month billing period, as long as you are within the 15 day window, you are exempt from paying anything more than what you already have. Now I could be wrong on all of this, but it is probably the best shot you have. I have already submitted a formal letter of cancellation to Local Lighthouse and plan on exploring legal action should I continue to be billed by them in the future. For anyone experiencing a similar problem, I suggest you do the same.

Website not on Google, they refused to cancel 'service'.

After searching for the website they made for me everywhere, for weeks, it couldn't be found, all my other ads are right on the first page. When I called to cancel customer service argued round and round putting me on hold over and over, finally connected me to a supervisor who did the same arguing over and over and over. I told him cancel, cancel cancel, repeatedly after I want silent he hung up. He called back and left a message saying the charges will continue. Avoid these crooks, I reported them to the BBB, they're the worst I've ever encountered.

Avoid at all cost! 6 month contract - others providers do NOT demand this

I fell prey to the aggressive sales pitch, signed up for this service, which provided an embarrassing representation of my business. This site literally made no difference to my Google hits. They charged me $99 a month (!) My business closed 2 months later due to a fall out with the landlord. I CLOSED THE BUSINESS, called Lighthouse - a representative said, "no problem, we'll close the account, no further charges." Not the case. Next, Lighthouse requested an "official IRS form" to "prove" my business had closed. I contacted IRS, a live person on the phone, who confirmed no such form exists. I advised Lighthouse. I did provide an expiration of my business license from the city - but they wouldn't accept it. When push came to shove, they went back on their word and demanded I pay to the term of their contract, despite the business no longer existing (!) There are a multitude of other people offering these same services WITHOUT A 6 MONTH CONTRACT and for far less money. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this company!

Scammers strike out

I've been getting lots of these phone calls that have a pleasant female computer voice tell you that this is Google calling and it's extremely important for me to take the call as they need to finish upgrading my Google + account. OK, so this morning I finally decided to find out who these people really were. I mean, obviously, this was NOT Google - I have a small translation company with an old (1998 vintage) web site that is not likely to draw the attention of Google. I pressed "1" and was told that I have to be a small business owner or marketing director before they would talk to me, and if that was me - I should press "1" again. I did. A cheerful young woman picked up introducing herself as Amy and started going down the scripted sales pitch. The fact that I was answering her every question with a "No" (would I be interested in a guaranteed top listing, without needing any Adwords? - NO! Okay, would I be interested in attracting more clients to offer them my product or service? - NO!) did not even slow her down. She kept at me, admitting at one point that she was working for Local SEO Lighthouse, not Google, but when I started explaining to her how what she was talking about was impossible she just hung up. I guess they prefer to deal with people who don't know much about how Google operates and what "SEO" actually means. Stay away from these people - this is 100% a scam with nothing of value to offer. Just lies and empty promises. I have a recording of that conversation if anyone is interested.

May I suggest when dealing with mess like this or any other service that charges monthly you use a gift card. Load it up with just enough to test drive the service.

If you like the service, give them a real card and be happy.

If not and they won't cancel, they can get what's not on the card.

If the service asks for a back up card, use another gift card.
